Harrison 500-series MR3 EQ

Harrison 500-series MR3 EQ

Classic Harrison Sound | Modern 500 Series Format

The Harrison MR3eq brings one of the most celebrated equaliser designs in recording history to the 500 Series format. Originally developed for the Harrison MR3 studio console, this 3-band parametric EQ with high-pass filter delivers the smooth, musical tone and precise control that defined an era of recording excellence.

Introduced in 1981, the MR3 console quickly became a mainstay in top studios worldwide — shaping the sound of legendary artists including Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin, ABBA, Queen, and Donald Fagen. Now, the MR3eq module captures that same sonic DNA, allowing engineers and producers to harness Harrison’s unmistakable warmth, punch, and musicality in a compact and versatile form.

Powerful Tone-Shaping

The MR3eq combines three fully parametric bands with a dedicated high-pass filter section, offering a wide range of tonal sculpting possibilities. The high-frequency shelf (800 Hz–15 kHz) can be switched to a bell response featuring Harrison’s signature proportional Q design, while the mid-band (400 Hz–8 kHz) provides a continuously variable Q for both precision work and broad tonal shaping. Each band offers ±10 dB of boost or cut, and separate In switches for the EQ and HPF sections provide instant A/B comparison and control.

Whether you’re carving space in a dense mix, enhancing vocal presence, or adding sheen and depth to instruments, the MR3eq delivers the character, colour, and control that Harrison is known for.

Legacy in Analogue

For over five decades, Harrison consoles have been at the heart of timeless music production. From Bruce Swedien’s mix of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” to Roger Nichols’ precision on Steely Dan’s masterpieces, Harrison’s tools have shaped the sound of countless records that continue to inspire. The MR3eq continues that legacy — combining musicality, heritage, and high-performance design in one powerful 500 Series module.
